Your journey in search of Sri Lanka’s hidden treasures is just as important as seeing them. From a night in Negombo find your way to the cultural cities of Dambulla and then the hill station of Kandy spending two nights at each town before returning to the coast of Colombo – altogether a refreshing six days. More importantly this is an expedition for anyone of any age of moderate fitness..
 
Day 1 
 
At the airport you will be greeted by our cylon ride  Representative and your Chauffeur Guide who will take you to the  beach town of Negombo. Once at the comforts of your hotel, relax and recover from the hotel close to the airport. 


Later on the day , your chauffeur guide will  summarize  you with what to expect whilst cycling on a Sri Lankan road. We encourage you to ride about the town and along the way you will be introduced to some of the curious sites such the Dutch churches. Relax and energize as the next few days will be quite exciting! 

 
Day 2 
 
Negombo > Kurunagala > Dambulla 
 
You will start by cycling over 35km along a picturesque route passing rice paddy fields to the town of Kurunegala. Look out for the towering Lord Buddha statue upon a rock, which from far is the town landmark! In the afternoon, enjoy lunch at a delightful local restaurant in Kurunegala after which you would back your cycles away and continue in the comforts of your car to experience the inland delights of Sri Lanka. Upon arrival in Dambulla, you will visit the Golden Cave Temple  to explore the paintings depicting the Life and preaching of the Ven. Lord Buddha.
 
Day 3 
 
Dambulla > Polonnaruwa 
 
Take a morning cycling tour of one of the better kept ruins of ancient Ceylon  at the UNESCO World Heritage City of Polonnaruwa which was a medieval capital of Sri Lanka from the 11th  13th century A.D. You will be cycling about 40km on soft surfaces as you whizz between these ancient ruins. Your stops include a visit to Lankathilaka, Thuparamaya, Royal Palace, Rankoth Vehera and Gal Viharaya. If you wish you may return to your hotel in time to grab a bite for lunch.

Late afternoon take an exhilarating jeep safari with the company of an expert naturalist guide to the Minneriya or neighboring Kaudulla National Park. The Vast sanctuary is home to about 250 wild elephants, wild buffaloes, sambar deer, crocodiles, sloth bear and more. 
 
Day 4 
 
Dambulla > Sigiriya > Kandy
 
Enjoy a hearty breakfast as today your endurance will be challenged! Begin the day by cycling towards the towering rock fortress of Sigiriya, a 5th Century Fortress in the Sky Over these 55km of moderate standard, you will be passing the Minneriya jungles, the dry zone farms as well as observing village life. After a cool drink of king coconut thambili, ascend the Sigiriya rock. Continue by car and en-route relish lunch at a local restaurant. Shortly afterwards you will arrive in the hill capital of Kandy, surrounded by greenery and the great Mahaweli River. Eminent as the center of Buddhism and the capital of the last Sinhalese kingdom, the name Kandy evokes romantic notions in people of a lost hill kingdom, a lake, tea plantations and a famous temple.
 
Day 5
 
Kandy 
 
At your convenience, become acquainted with the city of Kandy; pay your respects to the golden-roofed Temple of the Tooth Relic, which houses Sri Lanka’s most sacred relic, a tooth of the Lord Buddha. Admire the delicate hill-country breezes that urge the mist to gently part revealing colorful houses amid Kandy.  forested halo, visit the lively market places, Upper Lake drive and the grandeur of the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens.

For a spoonful of adventure, venture to the outskirts of Kandy to the Hantane Hills for an uphill cycle route through the forests.
 

Day 6 

Kandy > Airport
